Describe the bug / error

In Document Libraries with additional columns, some of the metadata is missing when viewed in the Document Library.

However, when the file's Item properties card is opened, that metadata is actually there.

Expected behavior

Metadata appearing in the Document Library view, not just within the file's Item properties card.

I attempted to reproduce the issue but was unable to do so. Could you please provide additional environment details or specify any conditions under which this behavior is happening?

Hi again @Ashlesha-MSFT , the environment/tenant is schoolsnsw . Having said that, the metadata that has disappeared seems to be for files within subfolders. Yes, it's not best practice, but this doc lib does have folders + metadata....

Upon reviewing your description, this appears to be a platform-side behavior in the modern SharePoint document library UI — and not related to custom development or a supported dev API (SPFx, REST, CSOM, etc.).

This issue falls outside the scope of this repo, which is intended for SharePoint development support.

If this behavior impacts your production environment, we recommend opening a Microsoft Support ticket via your Microsoft 365 admin portal for further investigation.
