Feature: Add Searching for Settings in the Settings Popup

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

First off, let me start by saying: THANK YOUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! This Files explorer is soooooooo much better than explroer.exe.

When opening the Settings and getting the Settings pop-up, I would like a hand little Search Box that searches for settings, like in Windows Settings.

Thank you for your feedback. I've experimented with searching settings in the past but never got it to a point where it was polished enough to add. That said, a lot of work has gone into making settings easy to find, are there any settings that you've had trouble finding?

I'm looking for the Folder Explorer Options. Just the standard Windows setting. I've been using Windows since 95 and so when I see a wrench in the toolbar, intuitively to me, I think that's the Folder Explorer Options. I do like the new Properties popup for renaming a folder/file, the size, ___location, security, customization, but I think that icon should be a different icon.

I'm also looking for the options to change what "headers" are shown, such as File Size, File Type, File Name, etc. I want to re-arrange them.

Additionally, is there a way to have the labels show up in the toolbar? I personally like labels along with icons.

Lastly, is there a way to rearrange the side bar? I personally would like it to have Drives, Network, Pinned, Libraries

It sounds like the options you're looking for aren't available yet 🙂

You can control the available columns by right clicking the header, however, don't have support for adding #8366 or rearranging columns yet #8385.

This isn't currently being tracked, please feel free to start a new issue for this.
